Ian Anderson Will Celebrate Jethro Tull's 50th Anniversary

Jethro Tull frontman and flutist Ian Anderson isn't a "birthday or anniversary kind of guy," but he's agreed to celebrate this one: 50 years of Jethro Tull!

Anderson and his band will celebrate the career milestone with a U.K. tour next Spring, beginning at Manchester's O2 Apollo on April 3 and ending at London's Royal Albert Hall on April 17.

“I am not usually a birthday or anniversary kind of guy but, just for once, I won't be a party-pooper either!" Anderson said via an announcement on his website.

“I treasure the memories of the earlier years of Jethro Tull repertoire, associated as it is with the adventures of visiting so many countries for the first time to connect with new fans around the world.

“And this is a celebration of all the 33 band members who graced our ranks – musicians who brought their talents, skills and styles to bear on the performances live and in the studio."

Anderson and company are obviously expecting a big turnout in the band's home country; tickets go on sale August 30 here!

But since Jethro Tull is celebrating, hopefully they bring the party stateside! Fingers crossed!
