Necker's Diamond Dash Raises Over $10,000 For USO and Honor Flight

Hundreds of Diamond Dashers and volunteers took over the Rock Island Arsenal on Saturday, August 17th, raising over $10,000 for USO Rock Island and Honor Flight of the Quad Cities. The 10th Annual Necker’s Jewelers Diamond Dash 7K Adventure Race took over Arsenal Island last weekend and raised over $10,000 for two local military charities: USO Rock Island (which serves the entire QC area) and Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.

The winners of the Dash, Rachel Verbeke & Cody Webster, went home with a Hearts On Fire by Hayley Paige Diamond Engagement Ring! Over $40,000 in prizes were awarded to the top 20 teams, plus countless drawings, raffles, and door prizes for other Dasher teams & volunteers! The Diamond Dash is a high-tech scavenger hunt/race that moves locations/towns each year. Past cities have included Eldridge, Downtown Davenport, Downtown Moline, LeClaire, and Rock Island. Participants compete in teams of 2 to solve location riddles, then run to that location. Once there, they perform fun physical and mental challenges around the town.
