Hard Drive Missing From Vegas Shooter's Laptop

Well, this won’t help those trying to quiet conspiracy theories about the recent mass shooting in Las Vegas.

New reports say the hard drive is missing from a laptop computer found inside the hotel room of the Las Vegas shooter. The missing hard drive may prevent investigators from potential key evidence and information on why he carried out the mass killings last month.

Sources tell ABC News the shooter is believed to have removed the hard drive before taking his life – where it went from there is anyone’s guess.

What investigators do know is that he purchased special software designed to erase files from a hard drive. But sources say without the hard drive to go over, it's impossible to know if he used the software.

Meanwhile, the brother of the Las Vegas shooter is facing several child pornography charges. Bruce Paddock has been taken into custody at an assisted living home in an unrelated investigation.

A felony complaint said the 58-year-old had over 600 explicit images of children and had swapped pornography. Police couldn't find him until after he showed up in some interviews following the Vegas shooting.
