Joe Perry "Doing Well" After Being Rushed to the Hospital Saturday

Many questions remain surrounding Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry's most recent stint at the hospital this past weekend. But Perry himself says he's OK, and that's a good sign.

"Doing well, thanks for all the love and support!" Perry wrote in a Tweet sent out early Tuesday afternoon.

The Rock and Roll and Songwriters Hall of Famer was rushed to the hospital Saturday when he collapsed backstage at Madison Square Garden in New York City after a surprise guest performance of "Walk This Way" alongside Billy Joel

A rep for Perry said he was rushed to the hospital after paramedics worked on him for about 40 minutes at the arena, giving him oxygen and a tracheal tube to clear his airway. He was said to be "alert and responsive" during the incident.

The collapse was particularly concerning because it marked the second time in about two years the guitarist collapsed at a concert in New York.

In 2016 at a concert in Brooklyn with Hollywood Vampires, Perry collapsed behind his amplifier and was rushed to the hospital. The episode was later attributed to dehydration and exhaustion.

Perry has yet to indicate any changes to his touring plans due to the health scare. He is scheduled to play 10 shows this fall with his solo band, including Gary Cherone and Brad Whitford

On Monday, the guitarist's official Twitter account paid tribute to late-Marvel comics founder Stan Lee, posting a photo of the two.
