Elton John Extends North American Tour With 24 Newly-Announced Concerts

iHeartRadio ICONS With Elton John: Celebrating The Launch Of Elton John's Autobiography, "ME"

Elton John's long farewell will continue at least through next July.

The music icon just announced 24 more North American shows that have been added to his 2020 itinerary.

John will begin the next phase of his 'Farewell Yellow Brick Road' on March 28 in Toronto, Ontario. After a handful of Canadian shows, he'll remain on the road in the U.S. through July 8 in Kansas City, Missouri.

John announced his farewell to large-scale touring in January of 2018, citing a desire to focus on fatherhood, maintain his health and spend more time at home composing music rather than performing in concert (though he has not ruled out future performances).

At the time of the farewell announcement, he touted the tour would be at least 300 shows, as he endeavored to perform at least one last time for fans all over the world.

Much like this past year, with the release of his hit Rocketman biopic and bestselling memoir ME!, each show of the tour has been a celebration of John's music with a career-spanning setlist, including nearly all of his hits and some of his most crucial album cuts.

John has not indicated whether he plans add more dates in 2020, but he has confirmed that the tour will conclude in 2021.

Tickets to the newly-announced concerts go on sale Friday, November 22, at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets and VIP packages can be purchased on John's official website.
