Iowa Wrestler Celebrates...By Body-Slamming Coach

Congratulations go out to Cory Clark. He’s the college student from the University of Iowa that just won the NCAA national championship for wrestling in the 133-pound class. That’s like Greek Olympic wrestling – not the jump-off-the-top-rope-hit-someone-with-a-chair-and-then-yell-woooooo type of wrestling.

After winning a championship, some people decide to run into the stands and hug their parents. Others decide to thank God, and then hug their coach. Cody decided the best thing to do would be slam his coach to the floor in celebration. It was Iowa assistant coach Terry Brands, to be more precise.

To be fair, however, it doesn’t appear that this was at all a surprise to Brands. When you go back and watch the video, it’s clear that while the midst of his congratulatory hug, Brands says repeatedly to the victorious wrestler “throw me…throw me.” Fortunately, no one was hurt as the mayhem ensued, and everyone seemed to have a good time with it. Everyone, of course, except the guy who lost. He probably didn’t dig it much at all.
