Gotta say, it feels GREAT to be back! Had a nice week-and-a-half off...now I'm here. Well, for a few days. Yeah...Off Monday and Tuesday next week...back Wednesday...off Thursday and Friday. It's something you'll notice that a LOT of us do in the media. We have a lot of "black out days" where we CAN'T take vacation...so it ends up getting bunched up at the end of the year. I'm not complaining, though...it was a REALLY nice break.
Now, if you're wondering what the food picture is...it's the Charcuterie Board my wife and I put together for last night's meal with family. We ate SO MUCH over the weekend (I had Christmas with MY family on Sunday...two BIG meals...then Christmas with my in-laws on Monday and Tuesday...and a LOT of big meals there, too). This was a way of eating a little lighter to finish up Christmas. I bought the meats and some of the other foods on the board...my wife, Rachel, put it together. Gotta say, it was REALLY good.
As for next week, I'll be off Monday and Tuesday...back Wednesday. But off again on Thursday (taking my son to a Badger basketball game in Madison, Wisconsin, to go see Ethan Happe play)...then Friday we're all going to Chicago to spend some of that Christmas money we got.
