The Beatles were once the enemy of American life. "Keep the Communists Out" read the protest signs. What kind of trouble could four young men from Liverpool cause? Seems their message was taken a little to seriously by some.
"Don't forget what The Beatles have said" read the script, and records were burned. The same rhetoric is going on today and yet we don't learn from the past that words are just words, and music is contemplative and up to the one listening to it to decide what it is about as it relates to their place in the world. What kind of people would get themselves in such an uproar over what some kids from England had to say? People just like us. Will we ever learn? -Morgen
